Account settings

Users can manage account related options by using the “Account settings” page.
To get to this page:

  1. Click on the username on the top-right of the screen, a popup menu will appear;
  2. Select “Account settings”.

Change name and e-mail address #

The name that is used to reference the user throughout the portal can be changed, as well as the e-mail address that is used to communicate service messages. Users can change their name and e-mail address on the “Name and e-mail” tab following these steps:

  1. Change the “Name” textfield value to the desired new name;
  2. Change the “E-mail” textfield value to the desired new e-mail address;
  3. To confirm the identity change, users have to enter their current password in the “Current password” textfield;
  4. Click “Save” in the toolbar above, the new information will be saved.

Enter your new name and e-mail address, then enter your current password and save.

Change password #

The password that is used to log in can be changed if desired. A reason to change your password could be improved security. Users can change their password on the “Change password” tab following these steps:

  1. In the “New password” textfield type the desired new password;
  2. In the “Repeat new password” textfield retype the new password and make sure you have typed the password exactly the same in both fields;
  3. To confirm the password change, users have to enter their current password in the “Current password” textfield;
  4. Click “Save” in the toolbar above, the new password will be saved. From this point onwards you can use this password to log in, and your old password will no longer work.

Enter your new password and retype it correctly, mail address, then click “Save”.

Two factor authentication #

Two factor authentication (2FA) adds an additional step to the login process, resulting in improved security. After the regular login process, users will have to enter a constantly changing 2FA code. This code is obtained from an authenticator mobile app.

Download an authenticator app #

This feature requires the user to have an authenticator app installed on a mobile device.
You can download an authenticator app for your mobile device from the appstore or play store:

  • Google Authenticator: for Android or for iOS
  • Microsoft Authenticator: for Android or for iOS

Enable two factor authentication #

Users can enable two factor authentication following these steps:

  1. Change the “Two factor authentication” option button to “Enabled”;
  2. Open the authenticator app on your mobile device, add a new 2FA entry and scan the QR code;
  3. (optional) Name the new two factor authentication entry so you can recognise it, for example “Picopoint Gatekeeper”;
  4. In the “Current password” textfield type your current password;
  5. In the “2FA verification code” textfield type the current 2FA code found in your authenticator app (be aware that this code is changing frequently);
  6. Click “Save” in the toolbar above, two factor authentication will be enabled.

Click on the “Disabled” button to switch it to “Enabled”…
