Services
Picopoint Solutions offers its clients the ability to conduct WiFi-based measurements in retail spaces, shopping centers, or other locations, and also to interact with visitors. This allows our clients to gain better insights into customer routes, further improve on-site service, and potentially offer interesting promotions. Other applications include optimizing the development and design of a measurement area, or improving service and security at events.

What Personal Data Is Processed?
Every smartphone has WiFi. Thanks to a MAC address, each smartphone can uniquely identify itself on WiFi networks. Our WiFi sensors measure the presence of your WiFi device’s MAC address. Picopoint Solutions encrypts and anonymizes these MAC addresses immediately after measurement, making a personal link to individuals impossible. Additionally, we collect non-traceable user information regarding average ages, catchment area based on postcode (how far visitors are willing to travel to a destination), and selected language. An email address is necessary to contact visitors if needed, for example, for a special offer or practical matters. In some cases, external services are used to improve functionalities in our system, see data processors. You agree to this anonymous data transaction by accepting the terms and conditions of the specific Wi-Fi service where these data processors are utilized.

What Data Do Our Clients Receive?
Our clients only receive access to aggregated and anonymized data from us. This includes information on numbers, average age, most frequently counted postcode, dwell time, or walking routes. Email addresses are used for a client’s email program.

Data Deletion & Right to Erasure
We respect your privacy and provide a clear path for you to manage or delete the personal data associated with your use of our Guest Wi-Fi service. In accordance with global data protection regulations, you have the right to request the permanent removal of your data from our systems.
If you want Picopoint Solutions to perform data erasure, please follow the steps bellow.

What Happens to Your Data
– All profiles linked to the provided MAC address will be removed from our systems.
– Historical (anonymized) data will not be affected.
– You will then no longer be included in future analyses.
– You will no longer have access to the service.
– Any ongoing (possibly paid) WiFi access will expire.

Processing Time
Picopoint Solutions strives to process all deletion requests as quickly as possible. This will often happen within the next business days, but at least within 30 days of receipt. Picopoint Solutions strives to process this request as quickly as possible.

Remove me from the system
To stop data collection immediately, you can always choose to turn off your WiFi, or forget the Wi-Fi network in your Wi-Fi settings.
To initiate Data Erasure, please provide your devices’ MAC address (required).
Optionally, provide your e-mail address (it helps us to find your profile, we will not use it to contact you):
